Buongiorno!π
How are you my dear traveler? I hope you are doing well. ππ€ I know it's been a while since my last written article. It's been a hard time because our life dramatically changed due to COVID-19π§¬. In this period, I only dream about travelling. For a long period of time I didn't know if would be properly to post something about travelling. But my travel community asked me to post, so that we can remind that life is beautiful and our planet deserves to be visited when this nightmare ends. Today I'm gonna talk about my last trip in October 2019, so let's get started! π
Day 1
On 25th October I landed at Bergamo Airport (BGY). From there you can take the bus Autostradale or Orio Shuttle to arrive in Milan. Both arrive at Milano Centrale (a beautiful railway station). I paid around 10 euros. The same thing you can do if you plan to land to the other airport, Malpensa (MXP). To avoid any confusion, ask the driver first. When you get in Milan, you can simply take the metro line to arrive to your hotel. ππ§³
Around 1 P.M. I visited the famous Duomo. It's a masterpiece and you can't skip it when you plan to travel to Milan. I paid around 23 euros and visited all. And yes, I took the elevator for those who are lazy like me. π€£ I couldn't do the same mistake twice like I did in Prague. ππ Nearby, you can visit the Royal Palace (16 euros - but wasn't open tot the public on that day).
Then, I went straight to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. What can you see there? Prada, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Ferrari and so on. πβ Don't forget there about The Legend of the Lucky Bull. ππ
When you hear the word "Milan", probably you link the words "sober" and "elegant". That's true! I was thinking of those words too when I saw Teatro alla Scala. But I bet you'll be shocked to know that Milan has a modern part. π Don't you believe me? OK, then I want to present you Piazza Gae Aulenti (metro station: Garibaldi FS). Here you can observe the highest skyscraper in Italy. It reminded me of Burj Khalifa (Dubai).π
Moreover, it has a modern and innovative aspect. The Vertical Forest/Il Bosco Verticale sounds familiar? What can that be? Just a pair of towers covered by 2.000 species of plants. π³π²πModern, right? π
My last stop was City Life Shopping District (metro station: Tre Torri). Here I had dinner and a break from visiting. Enough for that day because my feet were burning. ππ₯
Day 2
I began the day with the famous "I Navigli di Milano". Here I met my best friend and visited together the city. On our checklist were San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, Santa Maria delle Grazie and Arco della Pace.
We crossed the city again with Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Our last sight was Sforza Castle. The metro station is Cairoli and it's 10 euros to visit it.
Where to stay in Milan? π¨π‘
I had a wonderful experience at LHP Hotel Napoleon (https://www.booking.com/hotel/it/napoleon-milano.en.html?aid=1971070&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=ATB). I chose this hotel because it's very close to metro (metro station: Lima).
Milan's Public Transport π
I used a 3 Days Ticket for my sweet city break. For more info click the link https://www.milanpublictransport.com/milan-transport-tickets/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9IX4BRCcARIsAOD2OB1dy5kWElFYGOizJ9kh8v3-g177BOIMjH0GUZyOgj0t8QeOmZB_5tQaAsxoEALw_wcB OR https://www.atm.it/en/Pages/default.aspx to get informed. You can purchase the ticket when you arrive in Milan so that you will know for sure the prices. There are 4 metro lines: M1 (red), M2 (green), M3 (yellow) and M5 (violet).
I hope you enjoyed the article and took some great info for your trip! Thank you for your time and have a wonderful and inspiring day!
