One Stroopwafel in Amsterdam, please! And Gaufres de Bruxelles s'il vous plaît!

In February 2019, I decided that it was the perfect time for a new adventure in Europe.😎✈ So I prepared my bag to visit something new. I just finished my exams and listened Gwen Stefani's song (Sweet Escape)🎶. So my sweet escape was Amsterdam and Bruxelles.

Speaking of Sweet, I found out that in Amsterdam is a delicious dessert named Stroopwafel. Also in Bruxelles are big waffles named Gaufres.🍩 If you plan to visit these cities, try both desserts. You won't regret it!😉👌

Day 1

I took a delicious breakfast at The MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West (click the link https://www.booking.com/hotel/nl/meininger-amsterdam-city-west.en.html?aid=1971070&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=ATB). It's a modern hotel near International FlixBus stop Amsterdam Sloterdijk and the metro station Amsterdam Sloterdijk

The transport tickets are available from special ticket machine. You must validate the card at the beginning of the journey and at the end. Also there are a lot of buses and trams to visit the city. It was a pleasure to stay there knowing that I'm very picky when it comes to accommodation.

After breakfast I began with Dam Square. It's the famous square in Amsterdam. There I visited Madame Tussauds Amsterdam (wax museum). There I took pictures with Michael Jackson, George Clooney, Princess Diana, Beyoncé, James Bond and so on. It's different that the one I visited in London in 2009. It has a Catwalk Podium where you can borrow fashion clothes and do the catwalk for 15 seconds. It's really funny and also you can send the clip to your friends. It was worth it!!!!

After, me and my friends went to Heineken Experience. I'm not a beer lover, but I really enjoyed this place more than my friends.🤣Yes! It was like a museum, but really interactive. Here the beer is different than the one you buy from the supermarket. There are a lot of games and it's a great place to have fun with your friends (and drink beer).😉🍻

Another must-see in Amsterdam is A'DAM Lookout. There you have a panoramic view and a swing (for brave people). Also you can eat something sweet, drink a cocktail or take remarkable pictures. How to get there? From Amsterdam Centraal Station take the ferry and walk 8 minutes. Around 7 P.M. we went to Primark to buy souvenirs & shopping. At 9 P.M. we were to the famous Red Light District. There the boys were lost🤣. Also you are not allowed to take photos. We walked a little bit because it was really cold, found each other and came back to the hotel.

Day 2

Around 10 A.M. we were to The Royal Palace (Koninklijk Paleis).👸🤴 When you buy the ticket you need to know that the audio guide is included. The Royal Palace is near to the wax museum Madame Tussauds Amsterdam. The rooms are incredible and it's a nice place to take some "royal pictures".

After, we went to NEMO Science Museum. If you have kids, it's a great place to let them to discover how machines works. There were a lot of kids but also adults who were curious like us. At each floor, you find something new. At the last floor you have a panoramic view.

Around 3 P.M. we were to Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum. There is a great place for art lovers. We didn't have time to visit everything because at 6 P.M. was closed. We ate the dinner in town and we came back to the hotel earlier because our feet were burning.🤣🔥

Day 3

After breakfast, we took FlixBus to Bruxelles (click the link https://www.booking.com/city/be/brussels.en.html?aid=1971070&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2&label=ATB). Our first stop was Atomium. It's next to Mini-Europe. Unfortunately, Mini-Europe was closed in that day. So we got inside Atomium. It's a nice experience because you have exhibitions there, how was built and a great view where you can observe Mini-Europe before you buy the tickets there.

In our way to Menneken Pis, we visited Grand Place and ate Belgian Waffles (Gaufres de Bruxelles). I consider that it's wonderful to see Grand Place when it's dark outside because the buildings are beautifully lit. So we ate the dinner and went to shopping to buy souvenirs & Belgian Chocolate.🍫

I hope you enjoyed the article and took some great info for your trip! Thank you for your time and have a wonderful and inspiring day!
